Natural Gas Market

OGDCL

Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) is the biggest exploration and production company in Pakistan. Government of Pakistan holds the majority share ownership in the company, and is registered across Karachi and London Stock Exchanges. 

MPCL

Mari Petroleum is an integrated exploration and production company, currently managing Pakistan's largest gas reserves at Mari Field, Ghotki, Sindh. It is the third largest gas producer in Pakistan and hold's market share of roughly 19%. 

PPL

Pakistan Petroleum Limited has been a frontline player in energy sector since 1950s, owing about 20% market share of natural gas supply. 

SNGPL

Sui Northern Gas Company Limited is the largest integrated gas company in Pakistan, serving more than 7 million consumers in Northern Pakistan. SNGPL's primary business include transmission, distribution, sale and storage of natural gas.It's transmission networks spans across 7941 km; whereas distribution network spreads 103,517 km. 

SSGCL

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited is the second largest integretaed gas company in Pakistan, responsible for transmission, distribution and sale of natural gas in Sindh and Balochistan. SSGCL provides serves 3 million domestic, 24000 commercial and 4000 industrial customers. It's tranmission and distribution network spans across 4,126 km and 47,520 km, respectively. SSGCL also engages in sale of LPG and transmission of RLNG. 

Natural Gas Transmission Network

Pakistan's natural gas transmission network has a capacity to transmit 6000 MMCFD. No significant increase is seen in the recent couple of years. 

Pakistan's natural gas transmission network spans more than 14,000 km, including that of SNGPL, SSGCL and independent companies.

Natural Gas Distribution Network

Pakistan's natural gas distribution network spans more than 180,000 km, including that of SNGPL and SSGCL. 

Natural Gas Consumers

Consumer growth topped in 2018, following which consumer base did not see significant increase. Domestic consumers represent the biggest portion of consumers.
